[Vigilance Press] Coming in 2010 - Kaiser's Gate

Coming in 2010 from Vigilance Press

This alternate history setting presents a fantastic take on World War One - combining the gritty battlefields of the Great War with elements of magical fantasy:

 Sorcerers of the German Imperial Army - fueled by the magic of red dragons - bulldoze Allied defenses and push deep into France.

 Heroic griffin riders of the French Air Service fight to free their nation from the daily terror of zeppelin bombing raids

 British golem squads fight alongside tanks to turn the tide of battle against the Central Powers

 As the tides of war turn against him, in desperation, the Kaiser makes a Faustian bargain with otherwordly powers that tragically backfires -- unleashing an invasion of creatures from Faerie into Europe.

Interesting. I've been working on a similar, but much darker homebrew setting that I've been calling Wicked 1916. I'm going for more of a fantastical-horror angle than transposed high fantasy, though; my idea was to take everything bad that superstitions ever persisted of - demons, ghosts, witches, and so on - and make them real and more terrifying in truth than any campfire story ever made them out to be. I wanted to make some kind of historical fantasy-horror setting, and the tragedy of World War I seemed like the perfect backdrop for it.
I've also done a similar setting called Wicked 1856, set during the darkest hours of the Taiping Rebellion in China.
Send me a PM if you want to swap notes on World War I sometime.

This sounds really cool. I'll be looking for it. Do you have any idea when it will be available?

What role does America and the Ottoman Empire play in this world?

The Zimmerman Telegraph is not intercepted in the world of Kaiser's Gate and America sits out the Great War in Europe as it is contending with the invasions of Mexican spellcasting forces (trained and reinforced by German battle mages.)

The Mexican army claims Arizona, New Mexico, California and parts of Utah and Southern Colorado very quickly -- as the American military has been slow and disorganized in its attempt to get a viable spell-fighting force into the field. With help from Mormon clerics, some interesting magic negating devices invented by Tesla and Iceland artifacts, the US makes a stand in Southern Utah and Colorado and spends the rest of the war attempting the Mexican invasion force out.

The Ottoman empire is still the weaker partner over the Central Powers -- but they supply some interesting spells that are unique to them.

Also, how is this significantly different from the Modern20 version? (http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?cPath=128_4406&products_id=56484)
True Star Wars (playable)

Monster Roles for easier Narrating.

I often come across as a big jerk. This is completely unintentional.

It's pretty much a conversion to True 20. Also - we've put all the Modern20 releases (NPC packs, new race supplement and an adventure) all together into one omnibus volume for the True 20 version

Sorry - being in the small press sector means that things move slowly. Just entered layout. Hope to have a pdf out (followed shortly by a print release) by June/July
