What is Qalidar? I found this interesting little item on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/Qalidar-True20-Limi ... 286.c0.m14Hadn't heard of this before. Anyone else know about it? ebay description wrote:This supplement for Green Ronin's True 20 Adventure Roleplaying is numbered and signed 7 of 15 by the author, sold only at Con on the Cob 2008.
From the back: The inhabitants of the lost land never called it Mandala. The Storm Sages came up with that, peering into the past and finding a strange gap, a vacancy, a hole where something wonderful should have been. Nor are the ruins at Qalidar the ruins of Mandala. They're shadows, shadows cast by light drawn inward, swirling in the Storm, raging around drifting islands of crumbling matter before plunging into the hole left by the great land that never was.
Qalidar is a dark city where shadows fall from across time and space. It is as close to a home as anyone has ever found for the perytons, and its paths through the Storm connect worlds that were never meant to meet.
Qalidar, a licensed True20 product, includes new creatures, new treasures, and new rules, including a system for alchemy and rules for traversing the Storm.
Found the publisher, too. Here's their link and description... http://www.perytonpublishing.com/qalidar.htmPeryton Publishing wrote:The inhabitants of the lost land never called it Mandala. Qalidar will be released exclusively for the True20 system and, in addition to the setting, will include new creatures, new archetypes, and new rules, including a system for alchemy and rules for traversing the Storm. Qalidar is due for release some time in October. Check this space periodically for news and developments.
Looks pretty cool. I'd like to know more.

Woah! For a minute there I thought this was about me. I find this really interesting; "Qualidar" (my username for the last 16 years or so) was a name I pulled from the adventure I wrote to kick off my Al-Qadim campaign back in '92. In that adventure there were twin cities (light and dark) buried in the sands, and a hidden janni shrine named Qualidar dedicated to the goddess of beauty. So in some ways the stories seem similar, and in other ways opposite. Interesting! (well, to me, anyways )

Hiya! I realize this thread is a bit old, but I just now stumbled across it and thought I'd say hi, since Qalidar is my critter. As you noted, the web page is: http://www.perytonpublishing.com/qalidar.htm. The one you saw on eBay was a preview edition. I can't remember if the polished version was available at the time you guys were discussing it, but it's there now, available through your friendly local game store, Studio 2, or the usual online outlets. I'll be using Qalidar material in my True20 event at Gen Con (RPG1009117, RPG1009120, and RPG1009121) if you want to try it out, and Studio 2 will have copies available for browsing (once you dig your way past the Savage Worlds layer) at their booth in the exhibit hall. If anybody's still reading this thread and has questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Christina Lea Peryton Publishing http://www.perytonpublishing.com

I haven't gotten a chance to use Qalidar, as my True20 game when on hiatus about the same time I bought a copy of Qalidar from Lulu.com, but I had planned to place it in a "side realm' reachable by Plane Shift. It'd would have been fun.

Hi! First off I love overall moodiness and overtones of the Qalidar setting. It's also versatile, adaptable, wild and can get pretty dark too. Really nice touch to add the evolution of the concept in the intro too :] Price is nice too. Just picked up Reality Blur's Gearcraft and I'm gonna' work on a clockwork/steampunk'd version of Qalidar. Work nicely with the Custodians, I'd say. Other than the map of the Medusa's Path (kinda' hard on the eyes), my only real complaint is that in the pdf I downloaded, the file doesn't have the cool front cover image. I'm just wondering if I am the minority and if I have an old version of the file? Thanks and cya. Btw, I bought Pits of Paneris thinking it was a Qalidar adventure. I guess that's why smart folks read up before purchasing ;D But I'm happy with the purchase b/c it has a neat connection/inspiration between the short story and the actual elements of the "module." Also it feels like I'm looking at another Narrator's game notes, which is pretty cool, IMO.
