I am at the end of my semester very soon, and can't really get in any gaming right now, but this community has always been one of my favorites. Polite, smart, and VERY HELPFUL. In that spirit, I am passing along some info from other places that I lurk. Google Wave is kinda blowing up as a useful incorporated tool for gaming, and I would love to see some of our great innovators here propose ways to formalize the True20 process via Wave. In that spirit, I give you a few links to some of the Net chatter about Wave as a gaming tool. http://gameplaywright.net/?p=1019 (uses Gumeshoe, but has great ideas for formatting any game) http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009 ... yed-dd.ars(with a link to a list of Wave games) EDIT: Also, if you have anything to say at all about your experience gaming via Wave, I would LOVE to hear about it. >WBM

elf23 and I have been using Wave as a place to collaborate on improving True20. I've got a lot of invites if anyone is interested. It's a lot more flexible than forums.
And I'd be willing to give gaming there a whirl too.
EDIT: After looking at your first link, I'm VERY intrigued by the possibility of nonlinear play. That has potential, I think.

Yeah i'd be interested to try out gaming in wave as well... It'd be really fun to play with a group of people from these forums (not sure about the time zone differences though...)

This summer I would love to arrange that. I'm GMT -5 in the Eastern Standard Time Zone US. If we formalize a non-time dependent Wave gaming format, the game wouldn't need to be "live" but could have a 24 to 48 hour turn ratio. One of the reasons that I wanted this discussion here is because the folks who post here are my favorite gamers that I have never met. >WBM

I don't think time differences are that important, actually. But to the extent it matters, I'm in the US Pacific Standard Time Zone. (-8 GMT) If we formalize a non-time dependent Wave gaming format, the game wouldn't need to be "live" but could have a 24 to 48 hour turn ratio.
Right. We'd need some ground rules, to be sure, but it won't be that different from play-by-post, I think. One of the reasons that I wanted this discussion here is because the folks who post here are my favorite gamers that I have never met.
Agreed! There's a great bunch of people here!

Yeah, true, if it were a kind of play by post style game. I guess the beauty of wave is that it can handle either this or the real-time chat style equally well, or in combination. I'm GMT +1, so that's a 9 hour time difference, max, so far... Which is probably doable. The Shadow wrote:Agreed! There's a great bunch of people here!
Yeah! We're blessed! (Some of the forums i've come across online... I can't believe people are so unnecessarily rude!)

I'm without a game group currently and have been curious about Wave too, so I'd love to try it out for gaming if this gets off the ground. US EST for me.
