Odd Question:

I have a gaming session set for Saturday (8/30), and I just found out that our normal GM is out - so I'm up.

The ETA for the I-Zine is 8/27....how optimistic are you about that date, and is there an introductory IZ adventure in that issue? (I might have missed the answer to that second question)

I ask because if it will be out on 8/27, I'll buy the whole shebang, cram for Saturday, and run it.

Actually...maybe a related question is - - is there an introductory adventure in the core RDP:IZ book? or maybe online somewhere? I normally like to write my own stuff, but this is an emergency.

I'm expecting some last minute changes to the document today. Then it's on to layout ( which won't take long at all) and it'll release.

The writer has been slow getting them to me. Sorry about that.

IZ doesn't have an adventure in it. Size considerations for the book didn't allow for it.

Thanks....I guess it's on to Plan B (which I'm not sure about...it might involve kittens).

I've been itching to try True20 in one of its many flavors...maybe I'll get one of the Freeport things or one of the adventures that GR has conversion rules for.

I'll keep a look out, and maybe if it hits by Thursday I'll pick it all up and cram even more frantically.

Awesome!

I think I am missing something, though...there WILL be an low-level adventure in the I-zine, there just isn't one in the IZ core book?

If there is, maybe the best strategy is to buy the pdf of IZ now, and read it while I'm waiting for the adventure goodness.

Right. No adventure in the core book, but the first I-zine is an adventure called "Message in a bottle." It also has expanded hacking rules.

Thanks so much for your support.

Just an update.

The first I-zine is still expected to release today, though it might be later in the evening. Robert Stefko and I were up really late dealing with design elements.

It's looking really good though.

Related question, now that I've bought both items....any plans to change the "on page XX" issues in IZ? The last book I bought that had this problem was the old Warhammer 40k battles hardcover, and man is that annoying.

Is this being fixed for the print release, and if so can those who bought the pdf get a fixed version? I remember a thread asking about Page XX problems, and I just assumed they would have been fixed by now.

They are absolutely being fixed, along with a bunch of errata.

Why haven't they been fixed by now? It has just been a matter of not having enough hours in the day.

The priority has been getting Shadows of Cthulhu and the First I-Zine supplement put to bed. Now that we've accomplished that (I've just sent off Shadows of Cthulhu to Chasoium for approval), the next priority is The updating of Interface zero in preparation for a print release.

The very second I get get the updated version, it will be uploaded, and a notification email will be sent to everyone who were kind enough buy the product.

You won't have to buy it again. You'll just have to download it. It'll be free to anyone who has previously purchased the product.

So far it seems awesome - can't wait to play it. There's a lot to absorb, so I'm sure I'll louse up HR combat, or miss something critical about AIs in whatever bodies they can pick, but that's normal for any game with lots of content.

It felt like there was a real reluctance to have people integrate ANY Adept stuff into IZ...It was given as an option, but the FEEL was that it wasn't recommended...same for the use of powers slotted into VRTs (hope I used those terms well enough to be understood) so that you could throw virtual fireballs...the all-caps NO was a dead giveaway.

Have you yourself ever integrated powers a la Shadowrun, and was it a big problem?

Sorry for all the questions...if it's any consolation I'm currently operating at a rate of about one purchase of a RDP product for every three questions answered ;)
