Over 30 and no, no full conversion rules. I had some notes and ideas on how to handle that but I wasn't happy with how it was working out so I cut it. Maybe, if this does well, I'll revisit the idea and work at it a bit harder.

A web enhancement, maybe? Or are you thinking of upgrading the current PDF (like GR did with True 20)?

That depends on what the length of any new material happens to be. If it's just a page or two I suspect that we would update the existing file. If it's 10-15 pages then it would most likely be a follow-up product.

Do you mean supplements for the game? True20 Bestiary, True Sorcery, and True20 Worlds of Adventure are in the works, as are other projects.

I was mainly interested in more unannounced products being released that might conflict with material we (as setting search winners) are currently developing for Lux Aeternum. For example, cyberwear, starship combat, alien worlds, that sort of thing. I didn't realize that this sort of (small, unforseen, focused) product line was being launched and I'd like to avoid more duplication of effort. If you'll let us know what else is on the way, then we can turn our attentions to other matters.

Cybernetics is very nicely done, guys. I enjoyed reading it a lot. It gives me a lot of good ideas for a possible Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita type game.

Hm. So... Would people prefer that Lux Aeternum was able to say "See True20 Cybernetics for relevant game info," or have it's own cybernetics rules, which might not be compatible? Would you mind buying a $5 pdf with cybernetics rules to use Lux Aeternum?

Wait... is t20c OGC?

Personally, I'd prefer True20 to work like GURPS or d20Modern. Have complete rules for starships, cybernetics, etc. in a crunchy setting-free "True20 SF" rulebook and have the setting books reference the True20 SF rulebook and contain exceptions and additions to the rules and equipment in the True20 SF rulebook (with enough samples such that one could start playing the campaign with just the setting book and the True20 Adventure Roleplaying book).

I was assuming that Lux Aeternum was going to be similar to SWRPG or T20 in that the rules and equipment are primarily for the setting - but can be used for other settings as well, and that there will be a more generic rulebook (or rulebooks) for SF put out by Green Ronin at some time in the future.

But Ki_Ryn has a good point. There's no point in reinventing (preinventing?) the wheel if GR is going to release True20 rules on starship combat, cyberwear, etc., that Lux Aeternum can draw on. Also, if that kind of project is still a while off, it really puts BlackWyrm Games in a bit of a bind.

It reminds me of all the modern and SF d20 systems that came out before d20 Modern and Future were released. Some of them, like T20 and Spycraft are still going pretty strong, but I imagine many of the creators of other systems are wishing they knew d20 Modern/Future were coming, so they could sell the setting to be used with official WotC rules.

Hey Ryan, have you guys announced anywhere in detail what exactly you're working on for Lux Aeternum? Teflon Billy was asking where he could find more info on what's coming up for Lux Aeternum over on EN World because his group is going to start using the setting for their regular game.

http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=175165

I was going to try to be helpful and point him toward more information at the BlackWyrm site, but I can't find anything in the forums there or in the upcoming product pages, and even a search of the True20 Archives shows mostly discussion about what the setting is like but not really what you've got in the works for it.

What we (BlackWyrm Games) are doing for True20:Lux Aeternum

We're in the middle of putting together the Lux Aeternum Expanded Setting Guide. The kernel of this book is the other 10,000 words we had to cut out to get the True20 submission down to 15k. It will go into much greater depth on the places, cultures, and things that make Nexus Sector such a diverse and dramatic setting. The current plan is also to include rules for things unique to our setting (cybernetics, starships, etc.). But with Ronin Arts writing overlapping material, we'll have to decide what, if anything, to change.

One of our writers is putting together a sample adventure to go into the Guide. If things go well, a chain of adventures will follow as well as more indepth resource guides focusing on specific parts of Nexus Sector.

The Expanded Setting Guide will be released first as a .pdf, and then as a "real" book if feasible. The current target date is near the end of May, but subject to change.

Important note. Ronin Arts is not releasing True20 materials. We are, however, creating True20 products for publication by Green Ronin (our first product was released last fall).

As a dead paper reader myself, I would love to get a non.pdf version of this. Are you going to say...collect these lovely creations of yours after a year and do Ronin Arts: True 20...a year in review kinda stuff? Bundle it with settings, etc?

Curious.

There are currently no plans to print any of the True20 products that Ronin Arts creates for Green Ronin.

Out of curiosity, and because I want to know just how much leggwork I have to do, just hwat bits of the cybernetics PDF are open content? My plans call more for a companion/core book style of 'build your own cyberware' point system(ala armor vehicles and weapons) how close to the existing materials can I get while still being able to sell my product?
