Corbin Dallas

Postby Kendermage » Wed Jan 03, 2007 10:13 am

Major Corbin Dallas (The Fifth Element, 1997)

Corbin has been out of the military less than six months. In that time his wife has run away with his lawyer and he is one point shy of losing his license. To say that civilian life isn’t agreeing with him is a huge understatement; though it takes a lot for him to admit it.. It is at this point that the fate of the universe literally lands in his lap.

Skills: Bluff +4, Climb +7, Computers +3, Disable Device +5, Drive +4, Intimidate +6, Jump +6, Notice +2, Pilot +4, Search +5, and Survival +5
Bonus Feats: Diehard (no pun intended)
Favored Feats: Defensive Roll, Improved Evasion
Core Ability: Determination
Feats: Diehard, Firearms Training, Point Blank shot, Skill Training, Tough, Two Weapon Fighting, Vehicular Combat, Weapon Training
Combat: Attack +6 (+5 base, +1 Dex), Damage +2 (unarmed), Defense Dodge/Parry +6/+7 (+5 base, +1 Dex/+2 Str), Initiative +1
Saving Throws: Toughness +3 (+2 Con, +1 Tough), Fortitude +7 (+5 base, +2 Con), Reflex +3 (+2 base, +1 Dex), Will +2 (+2 base, +0 Wis)
Conviction: 5; Virtue: Courageous, Vice: Insensitive
Reputation: +1

Possesions: Apartment, medals, trophies, photos, and cab; Wealth: +3

Great thread lol,

And a good way of sell this system to those thinking of getting True 20

Wanna see someone do justice to Solid Snake of Metal gear solid

(this may help, http://www.metalgearsolid.org/mgs.php )

I have a question. Is Solid Snake the same Snake Plissken from the escape from ... movies? I seem to recall one of the games called him that, but I might be mistaken

Nah, he just used the same surname when he was pretending not to be himself. One of those little jokes that the nerds that design video games place in their games.

Solid Snake is a completely different character from Snake Plissken.
True Star Wars (playable)

Monster Roles for easier Narrating.

I often come across as a big jerk. This is completely unintentional.

True but it was loosely based/inspired on him, and Michael Biehn,
(who had been planned to play the role of Solid Snake at one point, and would still be cool in that role today)

And yeah this is already in the pipe to be shot in a year or two,
(most likely without Biehn)

I propose a new challenge. HEROES.

"Heroes," an epic drama that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities.

The challenge comes in how to depict the Heroes. Are they all ordinaries until their abilities activate the first time? Are they still ordinaries after just will special abilities?

I am working on Isaac Mendez

Feats: Visions 10 (Power Bonus: 10, Save Difficulty 15)

Powers: Visions

Possessions: Fully stocked artist's studio, handgun, supply of heroin, etc...

Distinguishing Features/Mannerisms:
Issac is about 6 ft tall with dark brown hair; often unkempt, and the beginnings of a beard. Issac recently discovered his ability to predict the future but only while he is high on heroin and only when he paints them. He has no knowledge of his visions except for the paintings he does.

Background: TBD

Design Notes: I know Ordinaries don't normally get feats. but in the case of the Heroes I would argue their abilties are inborn.

Wouldn't know. Haven't been over there in a long time and currently can't get in. My purpose though was to do them as seen through the True20 lens.

Someone oughtta stat Alucard and/or Alexander Anderson from Hellsing. Also, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (the comics, not the movie).

Sanjuro Kuwabatake (Yojimbo, 1961)
"You don't mind if I kill all of you?"

Sanjuro Kuwabatake, the ronin who gets mixed up with yakuza, and gives as his name that of a plant he happened to spy when asked the question. He is clever as well as skilled, and succeeds as much from careful planning as he does from swordsmanship.

Role: Human Warrior 6
Speed: 30 ft.
Abilities: Str +1, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +2, Wis +0, Cha +0
Skills: Bluff 9, Concentration 5 (7), Diplomacy 8, Intimidate 9, Jump 5 (6), Notice 9, Search 9 (11), Stealth 5 (7), Survival 4
Bonus Feats: Attack Focus (Katana)
Favored Feats: Master Plan,
Feats: Weapon Training, Taunt, Quick Draw, Improved Initiative, Master Plan, Assessment, Attack Specialization (Katana), Cleave, Great Cleave
Combat: Attack +8 (+6 base), Defense Dodge/Parry +8/+7 (+6 base), Initiative +6
Saving Throws: Toughness +2, Fortitude +7 (+5 base), Reflex +4 (+2 base), Will +2 (+2 base)
Virtue: Brave; Vice: Scheming

Creation Notes
 My favorite of Toshiro Mifune's characters.
 My first character contribution to the boards! Woohoo!
 My favorite scene is where he's rescuing a guy, and is met by one of the Yakuza group's warriors. He says, "Hurry! The guards are all dead!" The warriors go running off, then he remembers that he hasn't killed the guards yet, so he goes in and offs them in an amazing display of the great cleave ability.

Why thank you. I had considered making Sanjuro higher level, then realized that there was no need to do so, considering almost all of the other characters are minion-level Yakuza. The fight scene that Sanjuro is watching between the two gangs is classic Minion fare. Two lines of guys with swords, each terrified to make the first move.
