Age progression

Postby Jakob » Tue Oct 09, 2007 3:19 am

Hi to all.
I had a question buzzing in my mind, about the age progression of the different races in Aldea.
Ok, we know how humans generally age (:roll:), we know vata are long lived... But, for example, we know nothing about the way rhydan age, nor night people, nor sea/folk...

Any official answer on this? :?

Age never really comes up in any of my games. It is only a factor at character creation or if I skip a long expanse of time in the campaign. I handle it like this. If you own the D&D 3.5 PHB use these as your guidelines:

Human = Human age
Vata = Elf
Sea-Folk = Dwarf
Night People = Half-Orc
Rhydan = Halfling

Of course you can make the races as ancient or short-lived as you like.

Actually, it was mainly a question about roleplaying (if I meet a venerable rhydan, how old would he be?), and less about rules.
Thanks for the imput, but I was really hoping for an official answer. :)

Actually, vata don't live that long, neither do seafolk. The vata'an queen doesn't live much longer than one and a half century (reigning for 96 years, if she was crowned at the age of 30, it means she was 126 when she died). In fact, seafolk are pretty close to humans in terms of aging, assuming King Rikin died of old age and not in combat.
