Hello All, Reality Blurs is happy to announce Ravaged Earth: The World of High-Powered Pulp will be coming your way next year! We'll announce street dates once we get closer to its release, but everything is shaping up nicely. In the Blink of an Eye…In 1898, the Martians came. They devastated our lands, they ravaged our earth. They slew without mercy and they died without tears when our germs struck them down and toppled their metal machines over the course of the longest weeks in the history of our world. However, from their corpses we found a gift, the present of Aetherium, which has forever changed the course of our destiny. Our burnt fields have grown lush new grasses in the decades that have passed, hiding the scars our planet has suffered. Our buildings have been rebuilt far better than they ever were before, but humanity has been forever changed and our wounds run far deeper than we could ever imagine. Some question whether Aetherium is a blessing or a curse. Certainly advances have come with this secret knowledge, but so has war. Great good has come, but so has great evil. People have changed in ways that go unnoticed by the naked eye in many cases, but if some have changed, is it not possible that all have changed? These powers that have poured over our planet must certainly be unnatural and our world, our poor dear world is now, and forever more, a Ravaged Earth. We hope you are as excited as we are to be introducing this to True20! Regards, Sean Preston P.S. Don't forget to join our new forums at http://www.realityblurs.com/forum!

Thanks! We've got a bunch of folks already chatting about Ravaged Earth on our forums, but if you have any questions, please let us know. Just to further raise the excitement, Erica Balsley is doing a bang up job of envisioning Ravaged Earth through the True20 lens. I think it's a great fit and will be a lot of fun for everybody. Take care, Sean

I'm putting the finishing touches on the True20 conversion of Ravaged Earth even as I post. Soon, it will be psychic hobos and rocket rangers for everyone! Yay! PS. Phelan... Ravaged Earth already assumes that at least two HG Wells stories, The War of the Worlds and The First Men in the Moon, actually happened. If you extend it to others, like, say, The Island of Dr. Moreau, you can have anthropomorphic animals in your RE game. Just don't expect them to be able to walk down Broadway in New York in spats and a top hat and not be accosted by cops. Just because there *can* be anthros in a given setting doesn't mean that the average citizen of that setting isn't terrified of them...

Heh, and here my idea might be something along the lines of an anthro grizzly dressed like a mountain man from Wild West fiction. Either that or the anthros were made for certain nations as shock troops. Which means that the cop might try to harass the bear but he'd have some form of ID to show that he is a citizen of the nation he is meandering about in and has every right to walk around everyone else so the humans can just get over themselves.

And in my games, that's a perfect example of a use of the Benefit feat.

Is there a companion volume to this for the Orient, Iron Dynasty or something similar?

Hello!
Visit our website and check out our forums.
Iron Dynasty is a world of samurai and steampunk and entirely separate from Ravaged Earth, other than for the fact that it's an upcoming Reality Blurs product line. At present, it's in development for Savage Worlds and we haven't decided whether to migrate it to T20 or not.
Take care,
Sean

I humbly request that you do migrate it to T20. I would be interested in purchasing it if you did.

Thanks for your interest. We'll have to see. We've got a busy schedule in 2009. Speaking of which, Ravaged Earth has now moved to layout and promises to be over 200 pages of pulpy goodness that should be wending its way into stores in April! Happy Holidays, Sean

I try to be patient. I still have three books waiting in my cart at Lulu that are from you or the other company, the two Blood Throne books that follow up the main book and the Technothriller book which will probably have to wait until next paycheck at the end of the month. But I do keep an eye out for print books that look interesting.
