I've updated the statblock so it shows Maneuver Bonus, and includes checkboxes for Baduin-style damage tracking.

Also, if you want to print it, you just get the statblock in a quarter-page-sized format, with space to pencil in a name if you like.

Okay, so this thing is pretty well finished now.

Now you can link directly to a particular level of a particular role, just in case you need to. Printing produces just the stat block and nothing more. Page title and everything updates smoothly when you switch levels.

Already used in my last GMing session -- this is a real godsend for me!

Let me know if there are any bells or whistles you'd want in a version for your game and I'll see about adding them in.

I would LOVE to make it possible to update things like "Battlefield Mastery" by selecting from the options and having the statblock update. That seems like a lot of work, though.

Anyway, comments, please!

Is there something wrong with the link? It doesn't seem to load at the moment.

Awesome. And thanks for the credit. :)
True Star Wars (playable)

Monster Roles for easier Narrating.

Okay, I've created a generic True20 version in a single html file (along with the data files for the roles -- it's posted as a github repository:

http://github.com/barsoomcore/True20VillainPicker

So anyone who wants to incorporate this into their own site shouldn't have too much trouble. It'll require some programming but nothing very complicated, honestly. I credited ValhallaGH with actually writing the Roles in the OGL copyright notice.

So is the Monster Roles Project now complete, then?

There are no more roles crying out to be made?

It seems so. Unless there is a role crying out, just not to me. If anyone hears it, feel free to describe it to me.

Has anyone adapted the Monster Roles for Savage Worlds?

Not that I'm aware of. Of course, Savage Worlds monsters need a lot less structure to exist. Attack skill, effect on hit, special abilities, basic attributes with derived stats; serve over interesting terrain.

Example:
Medusa (archer snake-lady that can turn you to stone with a gaze)
Agility d8, Smarts d6, Spirit d10, Strength d8, Vigor d8
Fighting d8, Shooting d10, Notice d8, Stealth d6, Persuasion d10
Pace: 6", Parry: 7, Toughness: 7 (1)
Gear: Bow (15/30/60; 2d6)
Special Abilities:
  • Armor +1: scaly skin
  • Infravision: Half darkness penalties against living targets
  • Snake Hair: Strength damage. Targets Shaken must make a vigor roll versus Venomous poison.
  • Stone Gaze: As an action, Medusa can make a Shooting vs Spirit roll on a single target. Each success and raise inflicts one wound. Incapacitated targets are turned to stone, permanently.
Done in about 7 minutes.
