I get 31 and 32, respectively. +17 BCB +10 Cha +4/+5 Dex/Str ?
Maybe it has to do with the Devoted Followers bit? They grant him a +4 bonus to Defense if they use the aid another action to increase defense.

That gets us partway there. Not sure.
Anyhoo, in the course of doing this one I discovered the magic of the Google Docs "OFFSET" function. Now I have to go back and make the code in all the other sheets pretty again.
Sigh.

The 10 base. You know, that number that the Combat, Abilities, and other bonuses get added to. 10 + 17 + 10 + 4/5 = 41 / 42. Edit: Also, I've added the War Leader document to the Villain Roles page, so now all of them are linked from that page.

Also, those values should include the 10 base, in my opinion. A bonus isn't a bonus if you only ever add it to 10 -- in that case, it's a value equal to 10 plus your "bonus". The term "Defense Bonus" makes me twitch.

I'll second that. It's the same way I wish they'd give a Toughness Save Difficulty instead of listing the damage "bonus".

I can't fault your logic, but I will point out that the various "bonuses" that go into a Defense can all be lost under assorted circumstances. P.S. Corey, now that you're done "testing" people, why don't you update the Google Docs to include that sweet base 10.

What role would you use for a summoner, an adept who summons other creatures to fight for him? I tried to look over the roles listed so far, but nothing seemed to fit.

A controller who summons either Brutes, Lurkers, Skirmishers or other controllers. Probabaly allow him to summon 1 Level-2 critter, 2 Level-4 critters, 4 Level-6 critters.

Or a war leader who's followers are all summoned.
That said, I'd lean towards controller. Not only because you can summon other critters, but because his other Controller abilities can be described as summoned creatures.
"With a flick of his wrist a horde of daemons emerge and clasp you in place. You're bound and helpless."
"A horrifying dragon appears and unleashes a soul-shattering bellow and a blinding blast of flame. You're ears are left ringing and you can't see a thing."
"With a quick chant a small army of hulking ogres surrounds the summoner. They look slow and clumsy, but their size makes it virtually impossible to slip past them."
Entangling Field, Thunderclap, and Barrier respectively.
It's all about the trappings, man. Go nuts.
Freebie: Damage. "With an eldrich chant, a huge set of animated shark jaws appears next to you and tries to bite your head off!"

Hey gang So one thing I always wanted was a slick JavaScript implementation of these roles. And thus: http://www.dino-pirates.com/dponiwiki/villains/Lemme know your thoughts! The code in question is in the page itself, although I'm serving the data up via my Django app, so you can't see it. But I'll see about extracting the code and data files so it can be run anywhere. But for now, please have a look and let me know your thoughts!

Wow, that looks good. I haven't stress-tested it to any degree, but it is pretty danged slick. Well done.
