As for your questions...
4. The defense scores add into base 10.

Which should be a 22. Sow how is he getting a 23?
Edit: Duh, his Dodge is supposed to be a 23. 10 + 11 +1 +1.
However, that means that his Parry defense is wrong (for some reason I assumed it was correct). His Parry should be 22 (10 base, +11 BCB, +1 Str), not 21.

Regarding Double Tap: Running around with two pistols is a superior option as written, always. And given that there's no ammo tracking in this RDR game, it is in all ways superior to Double Tap (which is just wrong to my sensibilities).
I'd institute a campaign rule of "Weapons have ammo and must be reloaded. Bullets are all over the place and don't need tracking, but the shots before reload is a central feature of the style and tone, and will be tracked." This restricts two-gun (reloading with two full hands is seriously tricky), and limits Double Tap due to only getting 3 real attacks per cylinder. Then you can just make Double Tap an attack option the same way two-weapons is.

Anime wrote:As for his level. Thinking back, I remember you had to fend off waves of bad guys or storm into gang hideouts crawling with them and it's only you and a few others. So maybe his level is deserved, but at 11th-level? Still seems to[o] high.

I understand. But with True 20, the best gauge of correct level is "how many feats does this guy need to be himself?"
With Heroic Feat liberally used, I can see this guy working out well. If anything, I'd drop the Accurate Attack and Evasion feats, reducing him to level 9. He can still Heroic Feat them if he needs them, but they don't seem as central as the rest of the feats do.

Re-worked Marston and fixed a few minor things too. Dropped him to 9th-level this time and took away the Accurate Attack and Evasion feats. Now he feels more heroic being at a lower-level (which does sound odd) but it seems to work.

As for Double Tap... Thought a lot about it and still can't come up with a real good way to implement it. I think the current writing of it seems okay, not exactly what I like but it'll do for now. But I did think of two advantages for Double Tap over TWF, 1) TWF requires two weapons while Double Tap requires one and 2) you can use a larger firearm, like an assault rifle.

I also re-read two-weapon fighting. It seems it doesn't require a full-round action, which I find it odd. But I guess it's emulating fiction/cinema and it is a game, so one must to let some realism go out the window.

...and I just realized that this thread might not be the best thread to discuss the workings of a new feat, so I'll leave the Double Tap issue as-is (unless I figure something out or go insane because of it).

Thanks for the advice/critique ValhallaGH. :)

Surely Bourne should have Attack Focus: Improvised Weapons. All those pens, rolled up magazines and hardback books! Maybe something like Grappling Finesse or Improved Pin as well, as his fighting style involves a lot of grappling.

Dante, Son of Sparda

"Well bring it on! I love this! This is what I live for! I'm absolutely crazy about it!"

-Dante, Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

This is a character creation for Dante, Son of Sparda from the video game series Devil May Cry.
Son of the Demon Knight Sparda who attacked his kin to save humanity. Dante is stylish and one of the coolest characters in video game history.

Dante, Son of Sparda
Role: Half Human/Half Demon Level 7 Warrior/Level 3 Expert
Speed: 30 ft.
Abilities: Str +2(+3 Adj), Dex +2, Con +2, Int +0, Wis +0, Cha +1
Skills: Acrobatics 12 (+14), Drive 13(+15), Intimidate 7(+8), Notice 10(+10),
Gather Information 7(+8), Knowledge(Supernatural) 10(+10), Jump 5(+8)
Favored Feat: Favored Opponent(Demons)
Feats: Firearms Training, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Training, Jack of All Trades,
Favored Opponent(Demons), Attack Focus(Guns), Attack Specialization(Guns), Attack Focus(Sword), Attack Specialization(Sword), Cleave, Diehard, Rage(aka Devil Trigger), Weapon Training,
Rapid Healing

Combat: Attack +12 (+9 base, +2 Dex, +1 for Specializations),
Damage +4(+6 if fired at the same time against one enemy)(Ebony and Ivory 20C/+3)
+7(Rebellion 19-20C/+3);
Defense Dodge/Parry +11/+12 (+9 base, +2 Dex/+3 Str), Initiative +1
Core Ability: Determination
Saving Throws: Toughness +2 (+1 base, +1 Leather Jacket), Fortitude +8 (+6 base, +2 Con),
Reflex +5 (+3 base, +2 Dex), Will +3 (+3 base, +0 Wis)
Virtue: Determined; Vice: Lazy

Creation Notes:
 This is a basic version of Dante. This is him during Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening or on Devil May Cry: The Animated Series.
 The +1 Strength is for Dante's demon side and the extra feat is for his human side.

This is a basic build for Dante. If you have any issues with it let me know. I'll also be making builds for Trish, Lady, Vergil, and Nero later.

This is an updated version thanks to help from Valhalla. I added the stat corrections and also added the extra 12 points to a skill. I chose Knowledge(Supernatural) since I knew that would be something Dante be good at. Thanks again for the assist Valhalla.

Go over Dante's saves, because things don't add up.

Also, thanks to his attack focuses / specializations his Sword is on a +12 to hit for +7 damage. And his pistols are on +12 attack for whatever damage you assigned to the magic guns (though heavy pistols are 4 base, so I'd stick with that - he's doing 5 against most foes, +2 if he's shooting one target with both guns).

Interesting build, overall. Though you did short him a lot of skill points. (40 for Warrior + 24 for Expert = 64. You've assigned only 52 of them.)

Thanks Valhalla. I'll fix it right away. The Toughness is due to his leather jacket. His +6 in Fortitude is for his +5 at 7th Level in Fortitude +1 Good Save for Level 3 Expert (Since it's -2 on your Good Save when you are mix class) Same applies for the Will and Reflex.

Also this is my first time doing anything with True 20. I just bought the game about a month ago and am still figuring it out. Thanks for the help though Valhalla and I will refix the issues right now.

Glad to help.

I'm glad you found where the saves added up wrong. Always a good exercise with a new system.

You don't add Strength to ballistic weapons (pulling a trigger with great force doesn't make the bullet hit harder). Ebony and Ivory do 3 damage (base for Light Pistol), +1 for Specialization (total damage 4), and +2 damage from TWF if they get used on the same target (as they often do). So he's either doing +4/6 pistol damage at range or +7 sword damage in melee. +1 damage when killing demons.

He's got too many feats (15) for a 10th level human (14 feats - 1 human + 13 level 10 hero). I'd drop Dedicated (which requires you to choose a dedication) since he's focused-but-lazy*, taking a while to decide what he's going to go smash. Also, it means you don't have to choose his dedication.

His Maximum Skill Rank is 13. Don't know if that matters to you, but he can up any of his skills 1+ rank(s) by shuffling points.
Suggestions:
  • I'm a bit surprised that he doesn't have anything in Jump; he always got some great air-time in the the games I played.
  • His Notice lets him hear a battle, through a solid brick wall, while asleep (if he takes 5). That's really, really good. As often as he got surprised in those dungeons, I question him being that good.
  • The kind of driving stunts he pulls off in the games are pure magic. I'd say he was using powers (wind walk) or magical equipment. Leaving aside the ignoring-gravity parts, none of his stunts were higher than DC 25, which is hard for his +11, but Conviction helps a lot. It might be worth it to shuffle points so he has 13 ranks here (total bonus +15), allowing him to take 10 and pass those driving sequences.
  • Intimidate is appropriate but he didn't actually use it, outside of a couple of cut scenes. Even then, he didn't succeed. I'd advise dropping that a few ranks.
  • Gather Information is ... probably way better than the character justifies.

*Great job with the Virtue and Vice.

Thanks for the tips Valhalla. I agree with you on jump. Notice I thought was appropriate if you watch the animated series since he could notice things that regular humans couldn't. I agree with gather information as well. That should be brought down a little bit. I'll get working on updating once again to fix the quirks in my character build. I appreciate the feedback Valhalla. It really helps me out. Soon I think I'll work on Trish next. I'm going to save Nero for last since I didn't like him that much.

Trish

"See you there" - The stand mirror that held the sword Sparda
- Trish, Devil May Cry 4

Trish is a demon made by Mundus and looks a lot like Dante and Vergil's mother, Eva. She is agile, quick, weilds two pistols just like Dante, and commands lightning. She is also Dante's on again-off again partner in demon hunting. She also disguises herself as "Gloria" in Devil May Cry 4.

Trish
Role: Demon Level 7 Warrior/Level 3 Adept
Speed: 30 ft.
Abilities: Str +0(+1 Adj), Dex +2(+3 Adj), Con +2, Int +0, Wis +0, Cha +3
Skills: Acrobatics 7(+10), Drive 7(+10), Disguise 10(+13), Notice 7(+7), Knowledge(Supernatural) 9(+9)
Favored Feat: Favored Opponent(Demons)
Feats: Firearms Training, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Training, Favored Opponent(Demons), Attack Focus(Guns), Attack Specialization(Guns), Attack Focus(Sword), Attack Specialization(Sword), Energy Shaping, Diehard, Weapon Training, Rapid Healing, Elemental Blast(Energy)

Combat: Attack +12 (+8 base, +3 Dex, +1 for Specializations),
Damage +4(+2 if fired at the same time against one enemy)(Luce and Ombra 20C/+3)
+5(Sparda Sword 19-20C/+3);
Defense Dodge/Parry +11/+9(+8 base, +3 Dex/+1 Str), Initiative +1
Core Ability: Determination
Saving Throws: Toughness +2 (+1 base, +1 Leather Jacket), Fortitude +7 (+5 base, +2 Con),
Reflex +5 (+2base, +3 Dex), Will +3 (+3 base, +0 Wis)
Virtue: Free-Spirited; Vice: Impulsive

Creation Notes:
 Demons get +1 to Str and Dex.

This is a basic build for Trish. Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
