No kidding! It's huge and exhausting.

For the past four years, I've been working pretty vigorously on my True20 variant, and the core of that work has been on developing the (new) power system. It's really a lot of work to do on an amateur level. In addition to brainstorming, there's been playtesting, investigation, comparison between games, more playtesting, and loads of writing. It's fun, but it is still work.

Unfortunately I don't get the chance to game enough to really playtest. But I'm pretty good on the theory end of things. :)

I'm sure that many of the ways I ended up taking things wouldn't be agreed on by all, which is only normal. Anyway, I'd be thrilled to hear more about your ideas and be able to share my experiences with it. I could even start a new thread about it, if you feel you would have time for it.

I'd be glad to see a thread on your work in the Rules forum. Perhaps I can give some useful input.

Have you considered posting at least a sample of your system, or do you intend to publish it? I think not only I would be interested in seeing another True20 variant.

I have created some time ago a fantasy version of True20, intended for games in the style of D&D. It is far from complete, but I think it works for this purpose better than the original True20. I have made many changes to the power system, including a new ritual system, somewhat similar to D&D 4ed.

Yeah, I've carefully considered it over and over for quite a while. It kinda makes me nervous to think about it.

As for publishing it, that has always felt like it'd be out of my reach. I've definitely envisioned it, though.

I'm somewhat familiar with your work, Baduin. And I'm a fan. :)

Actually, I'm also a fan of The Shadow's material since my lurking days. So having such a game discussion with either of you would be rather awesome. :P

I can't even gauge how much time I've spent on it. Agh. It's just been something I've been doing for so long. Even now I often feel like I'll never be finished with it.

Excellent! I started working on an explanation today, but it might take me a while because I'm busy all tomorrow. That, and it will take several posts, I think.

I can't wait until my wiki is done and I can just direct people to that. ;p

I've been having computer trouble this week - as luck would have it - so it's been taking quite a bit longer than expected.

That said, it's going smoothly now (knock wood), so I'm more or less back in full swing. I managed to start my first post on another computer, so I'm hoping to get it finished and up by tomorrow.

I would like to see it more alive. I am writing my Sci-Fantasy setting for True 20. I have been back and forth looking at systems, thinking of writing my own, but in the end this is the one.

It's familiar. It's robust. It's flexible. It runs smoothly in play. What else can you ask for?

There have been some nice True20 ripples over at RPG.net for the last few days.

Yeah, I suspect that True20 may be getting some interest at the moment as D&D4e is starting to have wobbles under its own weight and Pathfinder fails to provide an alternative to those that chose True20 over 3e in the first place. All the light alternatives out there are retroclones. Unfortunately, Green Ronin's silence on True20 will do little to help the matter :(

I am recently having fun with True20 with Pathfinder Adventure Paths, Ptolus and Amethyst.
Playing: Doomstones (WFRP2e); Shades of Terra (Exalted: Dragonblooded)
Running: Incarnadine Crucible (Exalted: Alchemicals)
Planning: Tale of Two Houses (Mistborn)
